Birkenstocks are designed to support the natural shape of the foot.
When trying on Birkenstocks, take time to get used to them.
You should wear them gradually. Your feet should fit completely inside the pads. The width should fit snugly to prevent your foot from slipping from side to side.
They are not designed to be soft. The moulded sole provides arch support, correct positioning and plenty of room for the toes. They are designed to distribute your weight evenly, which helps with posture and balance and provides greater walking comfort. To make sure they fit properly, stand in the sandals with the straps untied. Make sure your toes are not overlapping or rubbing, then fasten the straps of the sandals.
Birkenstock sandals are available in two widths, M for medium and N for narrow. The N sandal offers a slimmer fit for smaller feet.
At Bellerose, all sandals are N, except the SUPER BIRKI. Our men's Birkenstocks are bigger and wider and generally fit men's feet better. If you are looking for a wider fit, please choose from our men's models (which are actually unisex!).
PS: Many people think that Birkenstock sandals will be ruined if you get them wet. Let them dry slowly and preferably naturally, away from direct heat.
