OUR COMMITMENT TO ANIMAL WELFARE
At Bellerose, quality and responsibility go hand in hand. We carefully select materials of animal origin—such as wool, mohair, cashmere, and angora—ensuring they meet the highest ethical standards. Our Animal Welfare Policy is a non-negotiable part of our agreements with suppliers, guaranteeing that every fiber we use aligns with our values of respect and sustainability.
Here’s what we stand for:
- Certified, ethical angora – We exclusively use sheared angora, never live-plucked. Each batch is certified to ensure animal welfare is upheld.
- No wild or factory-farmed fur – We prioritize faux fur and exclude fur from wild or intensively farmed animals.
- Strict exclusions – No skins from protected or exotic species (crocodiles, snakes, seals, etc.).
- Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified down – We only use down from suppliers who meet the highest ethical standards.
- No mulesing on merino wool – Our merino wool comes from farms that respect animal welfare and avoid this harmful practice.
- Ethical leather sourcing – We only use leather from animals raised for food, ensuring no unnecessary harm.
